Meet the Team #1 – Cherri and Ryan

This will be Cherri’s 3rd Ragnar Relay run with our team. Cherri first ran with us at Ragnar Relay Chicago when the temp went sky high just about the time that she took over on her first run and got out onto some country roads where there was absolutely no cover and the sun was bearing down on her hard. She was an absolute trooper and truly showed her toughness.

She didn’t run with us in 2017 but rejoined the team in 2018 as we were all finding out that Michigan has a lot more hills than we thought it would as we traveled from Muskegon to Traverse City.  We’re lucky to have her on the team!

Ryan has been an integral part of the team since the very beginning when we ran Ragnar Relay #ragnarchicago in 2015 and has only missed one race during that time, 2017, our last year in Chicago and we’re thrilled to have him back again in 2019, this time running to benefit NeighborLink Fort Wayne

Usually one of our faster runners, he’s also amassed the 2nd most total mileage during his 3 races. If he runs just 16 miles during this year’s race, he’ll hit a major milestone of 75 career Ragnar miles with us. His longest run was a 9.9 run at #RagnarChi in 2016 when it was 85+ for the entirety of his run and there was next to no way we could support him with water during that run. It was all pure guts to make it to the finish of that run.

A state title winning volleyball player, he doesn’t appear that terribly fast but with his long strides, he covers a ton of ground quickly and it’s fun to watch him run and see the speed he ultimately finishes with. We are definitely a better team with him on it!
